This is her story...

THE BUSHRIDE ADVENTURE

It was a sunny morning and Belle, Matilda and Jasmine were all out horse-riding on a bush trail near Belle's favourite beach. Belle's dapple grey gelding was called Gallifrey, Matilda's bay mare was called Melody and Jasmine's tiny little black mare was called Ebony.

All three girls were chatting happily. Then Matilda said, 'Guys, we probably should go home now; the horses are getting a bit tired.' Jas replied, 'Yeah, we should. Ebony is sort of panting.' After a few seconds of thinking, Belle said, 'But which way is home?' 'Er....' said Jasmine. 'Um... it's....' said Matilda. 'Oh no!' they all said together.

'Ok,' said Matilda, taking control. 'Let's think this through. We are in the middle of the bush on horses scared of snakes, which there are plenty of, and we don't know the way back. Let's.... think.' She delved into thought and the other two exchanged knowing looks. They knew to leave Matilda to her thoughts in a time like this.

All of a sudden, the girls heard a disturbance in a nearby bush. The horses heard it too; and their ears were prickled forward. 'Aaaggghhh! A snake!' yelled Belle. With a flurry, the creator of the disturbance crawled forward. 'No,' said Jasmine, 'it's Nugget! He must have escaped from the others back at the house, baking muffins for the picnic!'

'Speaking of muffins, I'm hungry!' said Matilda, her belly rumbling.
The three turned around when they heard very distant, and annoyed, voices yelling, 'Nugget! Where have you got to?!' Nugget turned around and gave a tiny squeak as he jumped from Jasmine's arms and waddled in the direction of the voices.

Ebony took a step forward and looked around at the girls, as if telling them to follow. Jasmine whispered into her ear, 'You're right. Let's go!' She cantered off, and seeing the other girls still there in the clearing, she yelled, 'Aren't you coming?' Belle and Tilly looked at each other, shrugged, and galloped to catch up with Ebony.

A few hours later found the girls sitting at the beach, eating muffins, drinking cordial and discussing the great adventure they had. 'Unfair!' said Emily and Amy. 'That sounds so exiting!' They all laughed and Belle said, 'It was.'
