Thank you to all those who entered last month's story competition.

Unfortunately some very good stories have more than 500 words so are disqualified. Stories already submitted may be resubmitted in future months with some editing to qualify them.

Keep writing your stories about yourself and Emily, Amy, Jasmine and Belle. Remember to keep them short and interesting. Funny is
always good too.

Congratulations to Keely 5 Victoria, from the
Australian Girl Team!

This is her story...

EMILY AND THE BUTTERFLY

One day Emily was out walking in the park and she saw a beautiful butterfly with big beautiful wings. She wanted to catch the butterfly and keep it, so she ran and ran and tried to catch it.

She decided it was really hard to catch butterflies so she ran home to get her butterfly net to catch it. When Emily got back to the park she saw her butterfly, who she named George (even though the butterfly was a girl), was still fluttering about, so she ran after her to try and catch her. But George was so fast and Emily got very, very tired and decided she needed a rest.

When Emily was sitting down in the park she noticed something fluttering on her shoulder - it was George the butterfly! How lovely, George had decided to come and sit on Emily's shoulder and Emily didn't have to run anymore!

So, sometimes you don't have to run after butterflies and get tired because if you sit really still and quiet they will come and land on you!
