Thank you to all those who entered last month's story competiton.

Unfortunately some very good stories have more than 500 words so are disqualified. Stories already submitted may be resubmitted in future months with some editing to qualify them.

Keep writing your stories about yourself and Emily, Amy, Jasmine and Belle. Remember to keep them short and interesting. Funny is always good too.

Congratulations to Jemma 9 Victoria,
from the Australian Girl Team!

This is her story...

ADVENTURES CAMP

Last month my family and I went to a camp with our Church group and we stayed on this huge property in Anglesea. We didn’t have to pay for Emily but she was invited to come too. Emily sat in the back seat with her seatbelt on and spent the whole 2 hour drive looking out the window at traffic and then the countryside. Our friends were waiting for us and when we arrived Emily and I were ready to have fun. After supper a big group of us went on a night walk in the bushes. It was very dark. I was a bit scared but Emily kept telling me she would keep a look out for anything scary.

There were noises and some of us were feeling scared. Then it started to rain a little bit. We tried to make our way back to camp but became lost. Emily said she knew the way to everyone so holding my hand she started to lead us back to camp. She took us the long way but we saw lots of things on the way. First there was a group of kangaroos sleeping under a tree. Emily put her fingers to her lips telling us to be quiet so they wouldn’t wake up. Then she told us to look up. There were ring tail possums hanging from tree branches.

We kept walking and Emily told us to be very still as bats started to fly over us. Emily was such a good tour guide because finally she stopped at the edge of a cliff to show us the view of the sea. It was awesome. The waves were crashing over the rocks and the moon was lighting up the ocean and you see the waves clearly. After this Emily asked everyone if they would like to go back to camp. Our tour had been so exciting that we all forgot about the rain and how wet we were. She took us back to camp and it was decided that she could be in charge of our activities for the next day.

So after breakfast she took us out to climb the top of a lighthouse to show us the view during the day and to show us where we had walked the night before. For the rest of the day and after we’d all had a huge lunch she asked the camp manager to start up the flying fox so we could have turns flying across the oval. Emily had so many go’s herself because everyone wanted her to be on their ride. Even my mum had a turn! Then Emily asked the camp manager to light the open fire because it was cold and we all needed to warm up. Emily took out packets of marshmallows, gave us all a stick and taught us how to make scrumptious toasted marshmallows. Everyone loved Emily and thanked her for such a fun day before going to sleep. The End
